EXTERNAL PARTICIPANTS:
Anyone who wishes to enrol in the courses must meet at least one of the following requirements: possess a high school diploma or be at least 18 years old.
COMMUNICATIVE FUNCTIONS
- Greeting people
- Asking questions during the lesson (asking to repeat, to talk slowly, asking for meaning, etc.)
- Introducing oneself and others
- Asking about personal information (age, job, telephone number, address)
- Being formal and informal
- Ordering in restaurants and bars
- Asking and telling the time
- Talking/asking about your work and leisure time
- Talking about your daily routine
- Talking about your family
- Describing a place
- Describing a person
- Asking and giving directions
- Inviting others to do something
- Accepting or declining an offer or invitation
- Buying and asking prices
- Booking/renting a room
- Filling in forms with personal data
• Should a student withdraw from the course, no refund will be made.
• The Language Centre reserves the right to activate only the courses that reach the required minimum number of participants (students enrolled in courses not activated for this reason will be refunded in full).
• Students attending online courses are required to keep their webcams on. The teacher will not register the student's attendance if the webcam is switched off.
• Lessons will be recorded by the teacher. The recording can be provided to the student only if technical issues occur during the lesson and such issues can be verified by the teacher.
In the above-mentioned case, attendance will be considered valid.
• All foreign students studying at Pavia University are allowed to use the self-study facilities (media library and language lab) available in the Language Centre .
• The Language Centre is an authorised centre for the CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera – i.e. Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language). The CILS certificate can be used for academic or professional purposes and is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
