The Language Centre organizes Italian courses three times a year, in September, October and February.

Italian courses are from level A1 to level C1 (beginner to advanced). Each level will be activated if the required minimum number of participants is reached.

The I session course is intensive and lessons are from Monday to Friday/Saturday usually in the morning and/or in the afternoon.
The II session and III session courses are extensive and run three times per week in the evening (6pm – 8pm)

The courses are all taught by qualified teachers of Italian as a second or foreign language. Italian courses are mainly addressed to Erasmus+ students, international exchange students and students enrolled at Pavia University, but are also open to anyone who is interested in learning Italian.

TYPE 2:
external students

In case of student's withdrawal from the course, no refunds will be made.

CERTIFICATES:

Students who have attended at least 80% of the course will be allowed to take the final exam.
Students who have passed the final exam will receive a certificate of attendance reporting the pass grade and the linguistic level achieved (according to the CEFR levels).
The final exam is not compulsory.

ECTS credits for Erasmus+ students and other international exchange students with Pavia University:

50-hour course = 5 ECTS credits

74-hour course = 7 ECTS credits

Credits will be assigned to exchange students who pass the final exam.

REGULATION:

The Language Centre reserves the right to activate only the courses that reach the required minimum number of participants (students enrolled in courses that won’t be activated for this reason will be completely refunded).

Please notice that:

  • all foreign students studying at Pavia University are allowed to use the self-study facilities (media library and language lab) available in the”Centro Linguistico Laboratori” (Monday-Friday 9am - 4.30pm)
  • The Centro Linguistico is an authorized centre for the CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera – i.e. Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language). The CILS certificate can be used for academic or professional purposes and is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
