Since 2012 the Language Centre has been a test-sitting venue for the German language international certification TestDaF – Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache.
Intermediate to advanced learners of German who wish to obtain a differentiated assessment of their language skills or students requiring internationally recognised evidence of their knowledge of German for their further academic or professional career at home or abroad.
The TestDaF is a language test for foreign learners of German who plan to study in Germany or who require a recognised certification of their language skills.
The examination is elaborated and corrected by the TestDaF Institut of Bochum (Germany) and is administered by authorised examination centres across the world.
The results of each skill are assigned a level of 3 (TDN 3 - TestDaF Niveaustufe 3) to 5 (TDN 5 - TestDaF Niveaustufe 5), corresponding to levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The exam verifies the four main linguistic skills of written comprehension (Leseverstehen), oral comprehension (Hörverstehen), written production (Schriftlicher Ausdruck) and oral production (Mündlicher Ausdruck).
The Language Centre offers free preparation books for self-study.

The total duration is 4 hours and 30 minutes, including breaks.
Approximately one month after the examination date, candidates can download their certificates by logging in their reserved area within the TestDaF-Institut website, www.testdaf.de
