The Language Centre offers a wide range of learning materials to self-study up to 54 foreign languages:


Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Basque, Bengali Bulgarian, Cambodian, Cantonese, Catalan, Czech, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Danish, Modern Hebrew, Estonian, Finnish, French, Welsh, Japanese, Modern Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Indonesian, English, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Mongolian, Dutch, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Panjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Spanish, Swedish, Swahili, German, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Urdu, Vietnamese and Zulu. For the most widely used languages, resources vary by level, from beginner to advanced.

Library Resources

The books in the media library are accompanied by audios, videos, keys to exercises and transcripts of audio tracks to enable self-correction and self-study of the language. They may be used at the Language Centre Lab (no borrowing service available).
